Front Line Leadership is a newly redesigned, flexible, ten module program that provides new and current supervisors and managers with a toolkit of practical communication and employee development tools that reduce conflict, improve employee performance, and enhance team effectiveness. The ten four-hour modules can be offered in any combination. Each one targets a specific set of skills. This blog post is the second in a series of posts that explains each of these ten modules in greater detail. Learn more about the first module, The Role of the Leader.
Managing Different Personalities is the second session of the Front Line Leadership Program. One of the biggest challenges supervisors and managers face is interacting with different types of people with varying personality types. This module teaches participants how to modify their own personal communication style when interacting with different personality types, ensuring that their message is clearly understood. More effective communication will allow them to develop more effective relationships with other members of the organization.
Module Objectives
- Learn a model for understanding behavioral differences. Participants will learn more about the DiSC Workplace Profile. This model can help them become better leaders by helping them communicate more effectively. As a result, they will be able to better reduce conflict, increase collaboration, and build employee engagement.
- Discover your own unique communication strengths and weaknesses. Participants will review their DiSC Workplace Profile results in detail and will better understand their own personality type.
- Understand the strengths, needs, and potential stressors of different personality types. Participants will better understand the motivations and each DiSC personality type. After developing a deep understanding of all four types, participants will learn to recognize them in others by identifying key behaviors and tendencies.
- Learn how to adapt your communication style to interact with different types of people. Participants will be given specific tips on what and what not to do when communicating with each DiSC personality type. They will then create an action plan that will allow them to use their new skills in the workplace.
